KIAAR is one of the only two JECAM (Joint Experiment of Crop Assessment and Monitoring) Centres from India. The institute is getting SAR images of RADARSAT-2 that provides high-resolution SAR imagery regardless of light and weather conditions. RADARSAT-2 has a huge imaging capacity allowing users access to data with a reduced chance of conflicts at spatial resolutions ranging from 1 to 100 metres that helps in accurate crop monitoring.
